The Opportunity 

The Williamson, Inc. Economic Development team is seeking a dynamic, relationship driven professional to serve as Manager of Workforce, Entrepreneurship and Investor Relations. Reporting to the Chief Economic Development Officer, this individual will serve as a key connector and relationship builder across Williamson County's entrepreneurial ecosystem and educational institutions. Additionally, this individual will play a critical role in the cultivation and stewardship of the Williamson, Inc. Economic Development Partnership members. This position requires a thoughtful balance of strategic initiative, stakeholder stewardship, and operational execution. The successful candidate will be charged with building and sustaining meaningful partnerships across K-12 schools, post-secondary institutions and regional entrepreneurship organizations. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a demonstrated ability to manage high-visibility programs and events.


Key Responsibilities

Regional Ecosystem & Advisory Board Leadership 

• Revamp and manage the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board, ensuring it remains a dynamic and impactful resource for the regional entrepreneurial community and a valuable engagement opportunity for Partnership members. 

• Lead collaboration efforts with Launch TN, Nashville EIC, and other regional entrepreneur-focused organizations to strengthen the broader ecosystem. 

• Partner with the Vice President of Economic Development to develop and execute a business expansion strategy for high-growth companies emerging through those entrepreneurship-focused organizations, connecting them with resources and opportunities to scale within Williamson County. 

• Organize and execute high-impact capital events such as Founders and Funders in partnership with Launch TN and the Nashville EIC.

 K-12 & Educational Partnerships

 • Organize and oversee annual STEM and STEAM days in partnership with Williamson County Schools, creating meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students. 

• Explore and develop continued engagement and collaboration opportunities with the Williamson County Schools Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center and Franklin Special District to deepen the organization's presence and impact in K12 education. Post-Secondary Institutional Partnerships 

• Lead and expand collaboration efforts with post-secondary institutions across the state, including Vanderbilt University, the University of Tennessee System and it’s campuses, Columbia State, the University of Memphis, Lipscomb University, and others. 

• Build and maintain strong institutional relationships that support entrepreneurship education, talent development, and regional economic growth. Investor Relations • Support Partnership investor relations activities, including the cultivation and stewardship of existing Partnership members.

 • Collaborate with the Chief Economic Development Officer and the Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Initiatives to identify and explore additional investor opportunities. 

• Play a leading role in Partnership fundraising campaign activities, contributing to the long-term financial sustainability and growth of the organization.

 • Relationship Building & Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward meaningful relationships with institutional partners, volunteer leaders, donors, and community stakeholders at all levels.

 • Program & Event Leadership: Proven track record of planning and executing high-visibility programs, events, and initiatives that drive engagement and deliver measurable outcomes. 

• Strategic Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the organization confidently and compellingly before diverse audiences, including executive and institutional leaders. 

• Collaborative Mindset: Commitment to teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, and shared success within a high-performing, mission-driven environment. 

• Fundraising & Stewardship Acumen: Experience supporting donor cultivation, investor stewardship, and fundraising campaigns with professionalism and follow-through. 

• Organizational Excellence: Strong project management skills and demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. 

• Resilience and Adaptability: Ability to pivot quickly, maintain focus in ambiguity, and engage diverse stakeholders with professionalism and poise.

Qualifications

 • Bachelor's degree in communications, nonprofit management, business, education, public relations, or a related field. • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in stakeholder engagement, alumni or donor relations, partnership development, or a related field. 

• Demonstrated experience managing boards, advisory committees, or volunteer leadership groups. • Proven ability to plan and execute high-impact events and programs, including managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional teams. • Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, or investor relations activities. 

• Strong relationship management skills with a track record of building trust with institutional, community, and executive-level partners. 

• Familiarity with the Middle Tennessee regional landscape, educational institutions, and entrepreneurial ecosystem is a plus.
