    The mission of Williamson County Animal Center is to find forever families for homeless pets, control the pet population in Williamson County, educate residents about the laws pertaining to pets, and prevent cruelty to animals through strict enforcement and diligence. The county agency is taxpayer-funded, and serves all Williamson County cities and unincorporated areas. A staff of 20 is led by director Ondrea Johnson. A full-time veterinarian is employed along with two licensed veterinary technicians, a community relations coordinator, volunteer coordinator, four animal control officers and seven other full-time staff members. The open admission shelter cares for 4,000 animals annually, conducts public rabies and microchip clinics in the community, supervises community cat and feral cat colony programs, and participates in community events. Williamson County Animal Center is a Pedigree feeding project shelter, receiving all food for shelter pets from the Mars Pedigree division.
