I'm a photographer and third generation small business owner. I'm also a legacy designer, an heirloom creator, and a wall art curator.
I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, with a big extended family. There was a lot of turkey dinners and spilled sweet tea. My voice could barely be heard above the dull roar. But it didn’t stop me from inquiring about all the black and white pictures along the wall.
Who were these people, my own flesh and blood? Where did they come from? What was their life path?
Inspired by their stories, I got my first camera at age 8. I captured family vacations, the statue of liberty, stuff like that.
But practicality prevailed and after a bachelors in marketing and a masters in geography, I spent many years providing strategic planning, project management, program direction and analysis for the U.S. Census Bureau. In 2012, I needed a change and opened my photography business. Back to my roots I ran with open arms!
I’m really just an old soul who’s a sucker for nostalgia and tradition. I love Marx Brothers movies. I enjoy a nice mug of root beer. And I truly get a rush capturing and preserving the moments that occur in a family.
My process (design consult, wardrobe coaching, in person viewing, etc) is a testament to my old-fashioned ways.
The older I get, the more I understand that while we’re busy living life, time marches on. Let’s capture our laugh lines. Let’s record our candle-lit birthdays. Let’s document our life. For generations to come.
